Ovayo provides comprehensive support across key stages of the appellate process at the Supreme Court of Appeal. Her responsibilities include preparing and managing applications for leave to appeal, ensuring the accurate serving and lodging of appeal documents, and verifying full compliance with court rules and practice directives. She also liaises efficiently with the Office of the Registrar to obtain the final court roll and confirms the composition of the Supreme Court of Appeal bench for correspondent appeal matters, ensuring a streamlined and well-coordinated appeals process.
Ovayo holds a Diploma in Office Management and Technology and a B-Tech in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing an LLB degree through the University of South Africa, demonstrating her strong commitment to advancing her legal education.
She began her legal career at Webbers Attorneys in Bloemfontein, where she gained valuable experience as a legal secretary in the debt collection division for National Real Estate Bloemfontein. She later transitioned to the firm’s commercial department, where she developed a solid foundation in legal administration and commercial practice.
Ovayo joined Mayet & Associates Inc. in 2020 and plays a key role in the Appeals Department, where she provides support in complex appellate matters and litigation processes.
