South Africa has now been placed under the Adjusted level 2 lockdown regulations
The changes come into effect from 00:00 on 12 September 2021
Please note that there is a nationwide curfew from 11pm to 4pm
Mask wearing is Mandatory | Wearing a cloth mask or similar covering the nose and mouth is mandatory in public Any person who does not wear a mask in public will be committing an offence |
Funerals | Funerals are restricted to a maximum of 50 people Night vigils are not permitted All social distancing regulations are to be adhered to |
Gatherings | Gatherings will be permitted Limited to 250 people indoors Limited to 500 people outdoors Not more than 50% capacity will be permitted in a confined space Where the venue is too small to accommodate these numbers with the appropriate social distancing, then no more than 50% capacity of the venue may be used Health protocols must be observed at gatherings, including maintaining a distance of at least 1.5 metres |
Alcohol | Alcohol sales are permitted between 10am – 18:00 Monday to Friday for off-site consumption On-site consumption will be permitted as per establishment’s alcohol license Establishments may sell alcohol until 22:00 |
Beaches, Dams, Public Pools, Lagoons and National Parks | Beaches, dams, public pools, lagoons and national parks will remain open to the public Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited |
Restaurants, bars and taverns | Permitted to operate Permitted to sell alcohol until 8pm only Maximum of 50 people allowed To close by 22:00 |

Night clubs | All night clubs are to remain closed |
