Adjusted Level 1 Regulations

South Africa has now been placed under the Adjusted level 1 lockdown regulations

The changes come into effect from 00:00 on 1 October 2021

Please note that there is a nationwide curfew from 12pm to 4pm

Mask wearing is MandatoryWearing a cloth mask or similar covering the nose and mouth is mandatory in public Any person who does not wear a mask in public will be committing an offence
FuneralsFunerals are restricted to a maximum of 100 people There is a 2-hour limit on funeral services Night vigils or post-funeral gatherings are permitted All social distancing regulations are to be adhered to
Gatherings (including religious gatherings)Gatherings will be permitted Gatherings will be limited to 50% of the venue capacity up to a maximum of 750 people indoors and 2000 people outdoors  Health protocols must be observed at gatherings, including maintaining a distance of at least 1.5 metres between people
AlcoholAlcohol sales are permitted as normal as per licence regulationsNo alcohol may be sold after 11pm at night
Beaches, Dams, Public Pools, Lagoons and National ParksBeaches, dams, public pools, lagoons and national parks will remain open to the public National parks and parks where there are access control measures and entry limitations already in place, will open to the public
CurfewCurfew times have been adjusted from 00:00 to 04:00
